About The Artist
Physical appearance:
I'm your average kind of guy, I'm about 6'1" I have long, brown,
wavy, hair that goes down to the middle of my back, and apparently, really pretty green eyes
with a brown ring on the inside, my girlfriends love them. In the past I had a lean and rather
toned build, but I'm able to admit that I have softened up a bit, but even though I have, I'm
still no pushover.
Personality:
HA, this is where I'm anything but normal (but what's normal anyway).
What I mean is my persona fits more with the situation, if I'm with good friends, I can barely
contain my enthusiasm, and I'll probably be hyper, rambunctious, or silly. However if the
situation calls for a more professional attitude, I'm more than capable of behaving as such.
Drawing:
I have been drawing since 7 th grade, well specifically in the style of
Anime. It all began when I met a good friend of mine back in middle school, I remember I saw
her sitting there drawing in her sketch book one morning and I took interest. She was drawing
a character from a comic that she had come up with and I started talking to her about it.
Soon after I asked if I could be a character in the comic too, the more time we spent the better
and better we became friends and she was the one that first got me started drawing anime, well
almost a decade latter and here I stand before you. Drawing has become a BIG part of my life
and up until I started drawing, I had absolutely no direction to go in my life.
Dragons ^.^ -<3:
I love dragons as you can tell, and to this day I'm not quite sure where
my obsession originated. It might have been when I first began drawing anime, but since its
beginning I have since, grown fonder and fonder of dragons. My room holds many things that
have really cool depictions of dragons, books, necklaces, figurines, t-shirts, sweatshirts,
stuffed animals and even candles (which I have not, and never will burn.)
Anime:
I was fascinated with Anime when I first started watching shows like
Pokémon and Sailormoon during the normal run of afternoon cartoons on UPN or The-WB,
but I became enamored once I saw Evangelion. After that tried to obtain as much anime as I
could given the resources I had at the time (which turned out to be little more than lots
of very nice pictures form a plethora of different anime of all sorts). Fortunately I've
managed to obtain much more since than, and have accumulated a small collection of DVD's
Manga, Figurines, Art books and other assorted items.
Kuk Sool Won:
Martial Arts has been, and still is, a very important aspect of my
life since high school, it's given me invaluable knowledge about my body, and myself. I
started as a white belt at the age of 14 and became an accomplished student very quickly.
By the time I reached blue belt, I was asked to help out in the children's earlier in the day.
I started as an assistant in the class and normally demonstrated (or was demonstrated upon,)
and by the time I became a Black Belt candidate, I was running classes as the instructor.
After training as a black belt for just under a year, I regrettably had to take a leave of
absence from my school in Half Moon Bay due to my moving out of the area but, I recently was
able to resume my training under an instructor I knew from my old school.
Computers:
I've been around computers since grade school, but it wasn't till about
my sophomore year in high school that a computer became a valuable tool for me toward my art.
By the end of high school I had a keen grasp on programs such as Photoshop and Illustrator, and
a minor understanding of the innards, but since than I have expanded much upon my knowledge of
many other programs and much more on how a computer ticks.
Games:
Unfortunately games for me are a bit of a side venture for me now a days,
what with a baby and all.
Dance Dance Revolution is by far, one of the most enjoyable games I've
ever played!!! Engaging, Fast paced, Fun, and an awesome workout! The Final Fantasy Series has
been a very enthusiastic favorite since I was introduced with FF-VII some years ago since then
I have loved FF-VII and FF-IX, though I've Never been able to finish either of them.
Cons/Fairs:
As an avid Anime fan there is one convention that I have been attending since I first visited it in 2003, Fanime Con. It was an awesome convention back then and has only grown in size and splendor each year as I have continued my ongoing patronage.
Another event I try to attend each and every year is the Renascence Fair they hold at Casa De Fruta. A very enjoyable experience even to work there, looking at all the art, the clothes, and the people there are… interesting to put it mildly, but fun none the less. |
